79 show here from Paris. Good set list and good energy from the band. The sound is ok but I would not rate it as an A, maybe B+ but it is certainly listenable. By this point, Townshend was not playing as many guitar solos and the keyboards expanded their sound. I kept waiting for Pete to explode but it didn’t happen very often during this show. The guitar is actually buried in the mix a bit but Roger is well recorded and overall, this is a pretty good show. One annoying aspect of the tape is a that a French broadcaster translates the bands stage banter at the end of most songs which makes it hard to hear what the band is saying. Great I suppose if you speak French, not great for the rest of us. So not a perfect show here but hey, it’s The Who and it might be worth a listen if you are a fan.
